Owner
Misty has always been one of those people that helps all strays. From friends, to strangers on the street all the way down to the menagerie of animals that find forever in her home. When she was 10 years old while working in her own business, Misty was bit by a reactive dog, that caused her to become fearful of dogs. However, the older she got, the more animals she rescued. When she had her child, she found the need to get her a dog. She conquered her fear and found an undying love for her bravery. Cleatus showed her that there could be an unbreakable bond between dogs and their handlers. He showed her what it was to take a puppy into maturity. When her daughter became a type 1 diabetic, Misty expanded her knowldege and taught Cleatus to alert to blood sugars with her service dog certification. As time went Cleatus got sick with Cancer and when they had to say goodbye, Misty knew they needed another puppy, one who could go to college with her daughter. In her all too typical fashion she rescued yet another stray that tested her patience and knowledge of behavior. She then went looking for the solution and through education, and becoming a CCDPT,she found her life's passion. She found an affinity with the hurt and scared dogs she was seeing in the field. To watch a fearful reactive dog become a self confident well behaved animal was the ultimate feeling. Once she figured that out, Misty was set on her life’s path, never to look behind her! Misty has decided to help change the dog training industry. She does not believe that we need all of the tools and gadgets. Dogs were preloaded with a language and we as humans can learn new languages.
Misty believes in doing all she can to help every dog family in Denver, while keeping her pricing competitive, she also understands the hardship of living in our expensive city. Misty offers payments and extended programs to be able to be accessible to all owners. Misty has been actively training dogs and studying animal behavior since 2012. She studied for her Service Dog Certification in 2012 through Barbara Heidelmans' Master Class. She decided to continue her education through the Master Class at Catch Canine Academy receiving her Certified Professional Dog trainer certification and Aggressive pet trainer certification through the Master Class with Mike Schikacio in 2020.
